Content descriptions

General Note: Dust jacket.
Summary: "Mr. Hoffman, the editor of Adventure and author of Fundamentals of Fiction Writing, sent out a questionnaire on the art of fiction to more than one hundred different writers. A few of those addressed were : Sinclair Lewis, Joseph Hergesheimer, Robert Hichens, A. S. M. Hutchinson, Will Irwin, Mary Johnson, Kathleen Norris, Henry Kitchell Webster, Booth Tarkington and Sir Gilbert Parker. Many who are closer to their literary beginnings were also questioned. The replies reveal how different minds approach and solve particular problems of creative work. Mr. Hoffman could have rendered no greater service to those who would write for publication than to gather these words of advice, counsel and experience, and to analyze them and strike a general balance."
